AUGUST 23rd - 2007 -So Jeff Juliano has been mixing my album "special company" - and he is killin it - wow the mixes sound unreal - so far he has mixed MASTERPIECE, MR ROGERS, LIFT ME UP, TIDAL WAVE, TWO CUPS, and he is sending me STAY AWAKE 4ME tomorrow morning - I was supposed to fly to chicago today but my flight got cancelled and ill be flying tomorrow at 2pm, so now im chilling watchin movies with my girl - I'm missing TV, RADIO and performing at a WHITE SOX game - but there is nothing i can do about bad weather. its nice to be home though - when you get home do this - list the 5 most important things in your life and then lift the top 5 things you spend the most time on - see if they link up - anyway - stay posted because I will be posting the new mixes very soon - HOPE ALL IS WELL -
AUGUST 4th - 2007 - what up what up butta cups - just finished the rough mixes and tracking for all 12 songs of the new album SPECIAL COMPANY - im so excited and relieved this record turned out even better than i imagined - it seems weird for it to almost be a finished product - but i have the weekend off and i get to spend it with my girl - im listening to the mixes, makin my notes and planing on giving the world the MASTERPIECE that is SPECIAL COMPANY - holla holla wolla folla -

JULY 25th - 2007 -Just got back to my future wife and I couldn't be happier - over a month is just too damn long - starting the final touches on grey skies tomorrow at the sandbox (rick parkers studio) in SMEL - LA. for all the people who are asking me on myspace if TIDAL WAVE, GREY SKIES, MASTERPIECE, STAY AWAKE 4ME AND 2 CUPS OF COFFEE are gonna be on the album - the answer is yes - i love those songs too they just need to be tightned up a bit - going back on tour to do a co headlining tour with PAT MCGEE - we start september 15th and will be out till begining of NOVEMBER - craig theiman is my camera man who got all the photage of europe - you can find him on myspace he is unbelievable and you are gonna laugh too damn hard at the photage we got of that tour - contact him/bug him about finishing the editing on those films we have coming out - he might even give you a sneeker tweeker preview - anyway - can't wait to get this album finished - hope you are all well and stay posted for new songs, videos, and bloggable life lessons at WWW.MYSPACE.COM/JOSHKELLEY and WWW.JOSHKELLEY.COM -

JULY 21st - 2007 - WEEHHFFEEWWWW - it took forever to get back here - what a plane ride - got to see some cool movies though - have you ever had a day go by slow and so did everyone else in your life - i wonder hmmm anyway - im in new york city today playing a private show - just put a new song called STAY AWAKE 4ME on my myspace account so give it a listen - as for the other songs people wanted - i just made a myspace account called myspace/joshkelleytoo - for all the old songs people want to add to their profiles - i will not update it regularly as this is the site for current info - the only song on there now is the old version on ONLY YOU - i will put some of the other requests up when i get back home to me lady in smelLA CA. - i met some increadible people in LONDON - went to the studio called k-studios and sang backup vocals on tristen prettymans new album - same place where they did kd tungstal and james morrison and many others - they want me to do some recording there as well - so looks like i might be getting back to LONDON sooner than i thought - i hope all is well with everyone - there will be a new video diary soon so stay posted and keep coming back - JOSH KELLEY

JULY 8TH - 2007 - LONDON - How bout it bout it myspace friends - I'm writing to you from my London hotel room - played a great show last night opening for Seal and tomorrow we will be on our way to Germany - Crieg T is here with me filming my first Euro experience for a future episode of MAKING THE MODERN DAY LABLE - we've come a long way since may when we started filming the documentary style reality show on how to break an artist in the music business - we believe this show will take you through an emotional ride shareing the journey with 4 different musicians - London is beautiful but the weather has been a bit grey - not a problem for the though as i almost slept through the entire day - I've been learning a great deal about my sign lately - and if any of you share the same one here is what i've found - let me know if you agree or disag. - Aquarius is the eleventh Sign of the Zodiac, and Aquarians are the perfect representatives for the Age of Aquarius. Those born under this Sign have the social conscience needed to carry us into the new millennium. These folks are humanitarian, philanthropic and keenly interested in making the world a better place. Along those lines, they'd like to make the world work better, which is why they focus much of their energy on our social institutions and how they work (or don't work). Aquarians are visionaries, progressive souls who love to spend time thinking about how things can be better. APRIL 15TH 2007 - Hey Planet Earth. We're here in beautiful Cincinnati, OH about to play a show at the 20th Century Theater. This tour has been going great! The last few shows have been packed houses and I've been playing guitar with Josh during his set. Lot's of cool news coming..Josh is very close to having the theme song to a new hit show..to which I can't mention at this time...Top Secret stuff ya know. Life is good on the road. Our bus is pretty much packed with 10 people, but everyone rocks. The show is growing and growing and really will blow you away, so if you haven't gotten out to a show..do yourself a favor and do so! New news on my end..I've posted a couple new songs on my myspace page (www.myspace.com/TreyLockerbie) including a song that Josh and I wrote and recorded at his studio. MARCH 29TH 2007 - wow....sooooooo tired right now. Adam just woke me up to get ready for morining television in Atlanta GA - i know its important but wow its early - anyway, birmingham, nashville and mississippi were all awsome - last night may have been the best show we've played - nashville may have been the coolest crowd - as you may already know we are giving away an ipod and im selling a new painting for every show - so come by the merch booth and sign up - i get to see my girl in a few days which could not come soon enough - we've been trying out new songs everynight and so far 2 cups of coffee and masterpiece have been the best reponse driven tunes - anyway it looks like the reporters are on there way - they want to do the interview in the front lounge of the bus - hope all is well - lookin fwd to seeing you all and your friends at the shows

TODAY WAS THE SADDEST DAY - HAVING TO LEAVE MY GIRL ONCE AGAIN FOR THE ROAD AND HAVING TO SEE THAT FACE OF DISAPPOINTMENT ONCE AGAIN - I LANDED IN MISSISSIPPI TODAY TO WELCOME A LIVE SHOW AND TO FEAST ON SOME CRAWFISH - I LOVE ME SOME MUDD BUGS - ANYWHO - LATER IN THE DAY I STARTED DEVELOPING THE HICCUPS - IM NOT A BIG FAN - LUCKILY I GOT RID OF THEM BEFORE THE SHOW - BUT NOW I HAVE THEM AGAIN - I NEEDED ANSWERS - SO I RAN TO GOOGLE FOR THE ANSWER - HERE IS WHAT I FOUND - ((((You're lucky to be writing me now, For years very little was known about hiccups and even less was written about them. Today that's changed. We still don't know jack, but scientists have explained this to us at length.
Here's what we know. When you hiccup, your diaphragm and nearby muscles convulse, causing you to briefly gulp air. Within 35 milliseconds the glottis (the opening at the top of the air passage) slams shut, producing the characteristic "hic."
If you're able to stifle the hiccup right away, great. But if you hiccup more than seven times you'd better settle in for the long haul. Once in hiccup mode you typically will hiccup 63 times or more. Maybe a lot more. The hiccup record, last time I checked, was 57 years.
Hiccups are commonly caused by distention of the stomach, which you get if you eat too much, drink carbonated beverages, or swallow too much air. This suggests hiccup as a sequela to boozing may be more the result of fizzy mixers than alcohol itself. Or else you just slurp.
Lots of other things can cause hiccups too, some of them pretty scary. Skimming through a long list, I see skull fracture, epilepsy, diabetes mellitus, myocardial infarction, tuberculosis, meningitis, bowel obstruction, and ulcerative colitis.
But it's not always, or even usually, so bad. A 27-year-old man complained that he'd been hiccuping for four days. The doctor looked into the guy's ear and saw a hair tickling the eardrum. The hair having been washed out, the hiccups stopped.
Why do we hiccup? I don't know, and as far as I can tell, neither does anyone else. Unlike gagging, sneezing, etc., hiccups serve no known useful function. Some speculate that hiccups "may represent a vestigial remnant of a primitive reflex whose functional or behavioral significance is now lost," as one researcher put it.
Or maybe they're just, you know, hiccups--an accidental reflex triggered by a stimulus to (usually) the vagus or phrenic nerves. This travels up the line to a nerve control center that for some reason sends out a "commence hiccup" impulse via the phrenic nerve.
The vagus and phrenic nerves go all over, which explains why so many things cause hiccups. For example, a 16-year-old girl began hiccuping after receiving a blow to the jaw. A brain scan found that a blood vessel was pressing against the vagus nerve in her neck. Surgeons inserted a Teflon spacer between the nerve and the blood vessel, and the hiccuping stopped. When the spacer later fell out the hiccuping resumed.
Which brings us to the question of hiccup cures, of which a great many have been proposed. Unfortunately, to paraphrase the distinguished physician Charles Mayo, the number of remedies is in inverse proportion to the likelihood that any one of them will actually work.
Home remedies are mostly based on the idea that you have to disrupt the hiccup cycle. These include holding your breath, induced sneezing, breathing into a bag, drinking water while covering your ears, pulling your tongue, pressing on the eyeballs, sudden fright, or--this is interesting--eating dry granulated sugar. Merely drinking water, if done soon enough, may work by washing down a glob of food in your throat that's pressing against a nerve.
If the preceding are unavailing, a doctor may try drugs such as chlorpromazine, tickling the pharynx with a catheter stuck through the nose, hypnosis, or acupuncture. Still no go? Time for stern measures. In 1833 it was recommended that you blister or burn the skin above the phrenic nerve on the neck and back. This has now been supplanted by a marginally more civilized procedure in which the nerve is sliced or crushed.
Sometimes unorthodox procedures are efficacious. Doctors tried everything they could think of on a 60-year-old man who'd been hiccuping for two days. No luck, so "digital rectal massage was performed, resulting in abrupt cessation of the hiccups." I'll bet.
If that's not your cup of tea, the case of a 32-year-old man with persistent hiccups offers hope. His hiccups stopped when he had sex. But it was only temporary, and additional therapy was soon required. The obvious question to have put to this guy: you sure you want this cured?))) What's going on..Planet Earth. It's your boy Trey Lockerbie, Josh's tour manager. We're here in wonderful Hammond, LA writing hits and learning how to survive in the wilderness from a show called Man VS Wild on the Discovery chanel, which may very well be the best thing on TV. We just watched a man eat a dead zebra in the middle of the safari without hesitation and squeeze water out of a handful of mud to stay hydrated. His whole goal is to find civilization. I couldn't help but think about his tactics and how they are parallel with our efforts out here on the road (exageration). The road is a tiring thing...and it's hard to survive when all you have at hand is fast food restaurants and hotel rooms away from friends and loved ones. But our goal is the thing that keeps us moving, to reach civilization..in a way that no one has before. As Josh would say it's to "Change people's lives...one note at a time." Nothing could be closer to the truth.
As you know, we're currently on tour and performing mainly at Wal-Marts through the south. Josh sold out the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA the other night and was kind enough to let me join the band for the night on guitar. Every show seems to get more and more impressive and histerical! It's been a great experience already. We've got a lot of things in the works right now that will blow your mind, so keep checking back for updates. There's exciting things on the horizon! DEC 6TH 2006 - in NYC today doing a radio show with MATT KEARNEY - looking forward to playing with Darwin again as he fly's in on a bird from California. Just got in late last night from Purta vallarta mexico - 90 degree weather to 20 degree all in one day. Rockin with ERIC AND KATHY and SUANNIE is always an off the wall great time. DEC 1ST 2006 - what up what up what up????!!!!! well its a different day today - i got asked to come in to audition for a one episode guest role on the tv show HOUSE. I'd by kidding myself if I told you I wasn't nervous - but what ever - its exciting and I feel pretty prepared. I love the amount of traffic that has been coming through www.myspace.com/joshkelley and www.joshkelley.com ...im getting more consistent at writing new journal entry's - so keep on stoppin by and we will keep on making it interesting for ya. NOVEMBER 29TH 2006 - back in smelLA chillin - trying to take a load off before my schedule gets crazy again - Did anybody see the EXTRA spot the other night...if so, put it on you tube and or the MACYS PARADE spot also...id love to see em - and while we are on the subject, any live footage you have post it - we love to look through youtube to see what people are putting up - I hope your getting down to the nitty gritty with your christmas plans....do it now and you wont feel freeked out come dec 23rd....I think im gonna take this 5 day down time and finish some writting - the last tour that Darwin (DOUBLE DOWN) and I did was very productive on the writting front...we have 6 new songs just waiting to be completed...looks like a new record is getting closer than I previously thought....anyway - hope all is well...TELL ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT "JUST SAY THE WORD" AND WE WILL KEEP BRINGIN THE JAMS...HAHA...HOLLA

NOVEMBER 27TH 2006 Howdy howdy folks - just kickin it here in Young Harris Ga wrappin up my thanksgiving week and what a crazy week it has been....made a commercial - shot a video for JUST SAY THE WORD, performed JUST SAY THE WORD in the MACY'S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE - got in a limo right after the performance and barely made the 1 oclock flight from NYC to ATL - my brother CHARLES KELLEY picked me up from the airport and we drove 2 hrs to the NORTH GA MTNS where most of my family lives - Katie and her mom and dad came for thanksgiving as well and we ate laughed and watched movies....wfewwwwww....now im about to pick up my gtr and write a new song that my brain has been workin on for quite some time....I HOPE YOU ALL HAD A GREAT THANKSGIVING....I WILL BE WRITING IN MY JOURNAL ALOT MORE NOW AS I HAVE A PHONE CAPABLE OF GETTING ON THE INTERNET WITH EASE.....TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO PICK UP THE NEW ALBUM (JUST SAY THE WORD) DEMAND IS GETTING MUCH HIGHER NOW WITH ALL OF THE NEW EXPOSURE - P.S. i will be on EXTRA tonight (nov 27th sunday 2006) HOPE ALL IS WELL JOSH KELLEY www.myspace.com/joshkelley
